Pixilab Blocks Server

BLOCKS is an interactive control and playback system that connects audio, light and image technology with websites, sensors and external equipment.

BLOCKS is an interactive control and playback system that connects audio, light and image technology with websites, sensors and external equipment. The system can play synchronized audio and video streams on an unlimited number of devices, but it can also receive and send control signals for DMX lights, sensors, touch screens and relays, for example.

BLOCKS is unique because it is the first system on the market to link all forms of equipment in a user-friendly way. The system is based on proven web and network technology, which means that all equipment connected to the same network can communicate with each other. The heart of the network is the BLOCKS server, which can be controlled from any device through a web browser.

BLOCKS has in a short time become the obvious choice in many interactive audiovisual projects, such as experience centers, museums and digital exposures. This is because the system can be easily installed on an existing network, is fast to program, is cost-effective and above all very powerful. BLOCKS allows you to quickly create interactive digital experiences.

Through a web interface, you can easily design your own control panels and functions where you decide what happens when you or your guests press the display. Examples of use include events, fairs and fixed installations.

BLOCKS can be used, among other things, to:

  • Play and control images and video that appear on one or more screens.
  • Mix images between different sources and files.
  • Send audio, video, and control signals to different devices over a regular wireless or wired network.
  • Live stream over a network.
  • Control digital sound and light tables.
  • Control physical devices via relays

The first image above shows various components that the system consists of and can control:

  • BLOCKS server
  • A network
  • Displays with separate players attached to BLOCKS
  • Interactive touchscreens
  • WATCHOUT Media Server
  • Projectors controlled over the network
  • Sensors and relays
  • Smart displays with built-in media players
  • Wireless network
  • Control panels
  • Visitors' own devices
