The pop-up restaurant ODDNORM is a unique concept situated within a raw industrial environment – an experience where gastronomy converges with advanced equipment and creative content to form a distinct, integrated whole.

The project was developed in close collaboration with specialists in content, design, and audio, lighting, and imaging equipment, where each serving is accompanied by its own distinct visual world. Through programmed lighting sequences, soundscapes, and dynamic visual content, the culinary experience is enhanced, and the space undergoes a transformation throughout the evening.

Adapt provided elements of the technical framework, utilizing our high-resolution beMatrix LED screens in conjunction with Epson short-throw projectors. This solution enabled the visual framing of the venue and the creation of projections directly onto the tables – an unusual and technically demanding application that necessitated high precision in imaging, lighting, and calibration.

By combining LED technology, projection, and meticulously programmed lighting, a seamless experience was created where equipment and gastronomy synergized. ODDNORM demonstrates how innovative equipment can be employed to push the boundaries of what a dining experience can entail – and how the appropriate technical solution can become an integral component of the experience itself.

A long, elegant dining table is set with empty wine glasses, beneath dramatic lighting and a ceiling of reflective material. Large red and black silhouette art pieces depicting couples face each other along the walls.
A long dining table with people seated on both sides under dim, colorful lighting, creating a dramatic and atmospheric scene in a dark room. Glasses and plates are visible on the table.
A long, white runway-style table is set with glassware and surrounded by black chairs. Large black-and-white portraits of people in sunglasses are displayed on screens along the dark walls.

FAQ

An immersive event is an experience where sound, lighting, visuals, and scenography converge to create an environment that envelops participants. By utilizing projections, LED screens, and programmed lighting, the organizer can transform the space and enhance the experience throughout the event.

Projections can be utilized to craft visual narratives directly onto walls, tables, or other surfaces within the venue. The content can be dynamically altered between various segments of the dinner, thereby reinforcing the theme for each course. Adapt designs projection equipment that integrates into experience-based events.

LED screens provide vibrant and distinct visual surfaces, whereas projection enables the utilization of the entire space as a visual canvas. By integrating these techniques, organizers can forge more dynamic environments where the content becomes an intrinsic component of the space itself.

Short-throw projectors can be positioned in close proximity to the projection surface while still generating expansive visual displays. This renders them particularly advantageous in environments with spatial constraints or where projections are required on unconventional surfaces such as tables or installations.

By programming lighting sequences, soundscapes, and visual content to operate in synergy, the organizer can curate an experience that engages all senses. Adapt designs technical solutions where equipment and creative content are integrated into a unified production.

Appropriate technical production can amplify storytelling and cultivate an environment where participants become integral to the experience. Through LED technology, projection, sound design, and lighting, events can be transformed into dynamic environments where equipment and content coalesce to forge something truly unique.
