When Sweden participated in Expo 2020 Dubai, the Swedish pavilion The Forest was constructed as a meeting place for innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration. During the six months of the World Expo, over 190 countries gathered in Dubai to discuss future solutions in mobility, opportunities, and sustainable development.

On the pavilion's event and conference floor, Adapt was responsible for planning, installing, and operating all AV equipment for stages and meeting areas. Over the six months of the exhibition, more than 250 events were held in the pavilion – ranging from presentations and panel discussions to product launches, fashion shows, and live-streamed conferences.

The projects varied in size and format, from smaller stage presentations to larger hybrid productions where speakers participated both on-site in Dubai and and via remote link from other parts of the world. By combining physical meetings with digital equipment, the pavilion served as an international platform for discussions and collaborations.

Installation and operation of AV equipment for over 250 events

In collaboration with partners, Adapt installed the entire technical infrastructure within the pavilion's event areas. The delivery encompassed audio, lighting, and video equipment, alongside streaming solutions for digital and hybrid meetings. All equipment was integrated into a unified network and controlled via the BLOCKS control system.

Centralized control with BLOCKS

To manage the high volume of events within the pavilion, the entire technical infrastructure was built around the BLOCKS control system. This system integrated audio, lighting, video, streaming, and other technical functionalities into a unified network, allowing all components to be controlled from a single interface. This established a stable and flexible platform, enabling rapid configuration of the equipment for various event types.

Through BLOCKS, both Adapt's technicians and the pavilion's own staff could control the equipment directly from their personal devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, or computers. This meant that stage lighting, presentations, display surfaces, and other functions could be easily adjusted in real-time according to the program. The solution ensured that every event ran smoothly despite an intensive schedule featuring hundreds of activities within the pavilion.

FAQ

Producing events in an international pavilion necessitates a robust technical infrastructure for audio, lighting, video, and streaming. The equipment must be adaptable to numerous program formats within short timeframes. Adapt plans, installs, and operates comprehensive AV solutions that facilitate the execution of everything from minor presentations to large-scale conferences and hybrid productions.

Hybrid meetings necessitate a combination of stage production, video equipment, and streaming platforms to connect participants both on-site and remotely. With the appropriate equipment, speakers from various parts of the world can participate in the same program. Adapt develops solutions where physical meetings, digital broadcasts, and interactivity are integrated into a single production.

At large-scale events, numerous technical systems often need to interact – for instance, audio, lighting, video, and streaming. By integrating these into a central control system, all equipment can be managed from a unified interface. Adapt utilizes platforms where technicians and organizers can effortlessly control functions from mobile phones, tablets, or computers.

When a pavilion is intended for use over several months, the equipment must be installed as a permanent solution that is stable, user-friendly, and flexible for various event types. Adapt designs and installs such AV systems, enabling organizers to execute numerous diverse productions without reconfiguring the equipment for each new event.

By implementing a flexible technical solution, the same venue can be utilized for presentations, panel discussions, livestreams, product launches, and workshops. With modular scenography and digital control, the equipment can be rapidly adapted to suit each program. Adapt develops such solutions for conference facilities, event spaces, and pavilions.

At major world exhibitions, pavilions frequently serve as venues for conferences, presentations, and business meetings. Professional technical production ensures that each event is executed seamlessly and that the message reaches both physical and digital audiences. Adapt provides technical planning, installation, and operation for complex event environments where numerous activities occur concurrently.
