In 24 hours, Koenigsegg switched from exhibition stand to live broadcast
In February 2020, one of our AdaptTrailers on their way down to Geneva and the famous annual car showroom. Our colleagues Eventkraft had the technical responsibility for Koenigsegg's stand. On their behalf, we would deliver parts of the AV technical solution.
On the way down, we heard that the Coronavirus has begun to spread in Europe. So far, however, there was no indication that the car showroom would be cancelled. During three intensive days, the entire technical solution was built up and day and night was devoted to fine-tuning and programming.
Two days before opening, when virtually all the exhibition stands were completed, the news everyone feared for – the fair is cancelled! Work was suspended, the halls were emptied of staff for the weekend and everyone was preparing to return on Monday to begin dismantling. But not in Koenigsegg's booth. There were opportunities when others saw disappointment.
The stand is switched to live broadcast
Instead of packing up, the booth was quickly re-set for recording and live broadcast. The stand had originally been built to launch a series of new sports cars. When it was no longer possible to do with physical audiences, all resources on site were instead utilized to make a completely digital launch in a live broadcast. During 24 intense hours, all equipment if, movies were recorded and cut together. In addition, a 17-minute launch was directed. 24 hours later, they went live. And no longer to a limited physical audience, but to the whole world – as the only participating company at the Geneva International Motor Show!
Today, a year later, Koenigsegg's launch has had over 670,000 views on Youtube alone, and far more if you add all the other channels. We call this a really successful launch! We at Adapt are fantastically happy that we, together with Eventkraft, were able to participate in the implementation of this project, which was actually the first event that for us was transformed from physical to completely digital. And we are still very impressed with Koenigsegg's ability to act and courage! We hope you will be, too, after seeing this movie.
