Hybrid event as Nobel Week Dialogue is broadcast live around the world

This year's version of the Nobel Week Dialogue was a hybrid event broadcast live from the Congress Hall at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg. In order for as many people as possible to participate, the event combined physical participation with digital participation. Therefore, guests and audience were present in the hall, speakers and lecturers participated remotely while a global digital audience could follow the broadcast via SVT-Play and Youtube.

In conjunction with the Nobel Banquet, the Nobel Foundation holds an annual dialogue event. In doing so, it raises important and topical issues concerning our present and the world around us. This year's topic was The City of the Future and focused on how the city can be developed and improved for its inhabitants.

Participation in several ways

Nobel Week Dialogue was a livesänt hybrid event which included speakers, panel discussions and a stage performance. This meant that there were both guests in the room and participants via Zoom. A smaller physical audience was also present in the room, while a global digital audience was able to access the content easily and conveniently via SVT-play and Youtube.

Technical cooperation

The event was a collaboration between several different actors, commissioned by Information Design AB, which acted as an umbrella organisation for the technical suppliers. Adapt provided sound, video and intercom for the stage. Light IT Production lit the stage and Live OB provided the TV bus.

Linking the world together

Imagine the opportunities that a hybrid event offers even if you can't be present on site. During the Nobel Week Dialogue, people around the world were able to join the conversation about the city of the future. A hybrid solution simply brings places, people and thoughts together!

equipment and staff for international event - PiWorld in Gothenburg

Adapt delivered equipment to the international PiWorld event organised annually by the company OSIsoft. When the 2019 event was held in Gothenburg, Adapt delivered a complete solution that included equipment , technicians and project management.

The recurring #PiWorld event attracts 1500 visitors from all over the world. It took place over seven intensive days at the Swedish Exhibition Centre Gothia Towers in Gothenburg. Adapt's assignment was to deliver a turnkey technical solution with technicians and project management for the large congress hall that accommodates 1500 participants. We also supplied equipment and staff for seven smaller break-out rooms.

A 24×4.5 m curved projection screen was used to display presentations and camera footage

OSIsoft is in the business of processing and presenting data, and for them, large and clear image areas are very important. To ensure that their material could be displayed as clearly as possible, we custom-made a large 24×4.5 m curved screen that was mounted at the rear of the stage. On the large screen we projected presentations and camera images so that all participants in the room could clearly follow everything that was happening on stage.

The complete solution delivered by Adapt included technical planning, sound-, light- and imaging technology, camera production and technician for implementation.

During the days, a large number of speakers gave presentations from the stage. During the breaks, we were treated to entertainment from an ABBA-themed band.

Impactful stage solution when international congress was held at Gothia Towers

In June 2019, on behalf of the Spanish agency The Market Room, we delivered the audiovisual solutions to the GSK event at Gothia Towers in Gothenburg. During two intense days, we built up scenography and equipment in Gothia Towers E-hall and Kongresshall.

Congress hall with pitch seating
The event was held in Gothia Tower's congress hall where guests can sit in a pitch bed.

In the E-hall, which was used for sitting conference with round tables, we built up a scenography with our backdrop system AV Drop. On the background that was 18×4 m large, printed material was combined with projection.

The stage background in the E-hall was built in Adapt's flexible AV-drop system.

The congress hall was used for the larger conference sessions. In the room we rigged up a 24×4.5 m large curved AV Drop projection screen to provide maximum visibility for all guests in the curved seating. The projection was made with 8 pcs Christie Boxer 4K30 Projectors stacked twice for maximum redundancy.

Curved projection screen
A 24×4.5m curved projection screen created an impactful setting and background on stage.

Under the projection screen was a curved high-resolution LED screen that was used as an effective background for the speakers and as a complement to the projection. To get comprehensive graphics that could go both over the projection and the LED screen, WatchOut mediaservers in combination with Barco e2 image mixer system.

Scandinavian event at gothia towers congress hall

In collaboration with Gothia Towers, we delivered a complete solution in January 2019 with stage, sound, lighting and image technology as well as staff for the Scandinavian Gathering event. The project was carried out in the Gothia Towers Congress Hall and for two days gathered about 1,500 guests from all over Scandinavia who were invited to lectures, entertainment and gala dinner.

The event in the congress hall gathered 1,500 guests from all over Scandinavia. The large screen provided good visibility from all locations.

This year's theme was Scandinavian-style with birches in focus. With a 24×4.5 m angled widescreen solution, we created a large digital display that provided good visibility for all guests in the room. The surface under the canvases was filled with stage décor in the form of strikingly lit birch trunks. With the large digital projection surface and the bright birches, we could easily create different frames that worked for both conference and party.

The stage was used both for conferences and for various show acts and artists. It was brightly lit with different effects.

In the evening, the stands were hoisted to the ceiling and the room turned into a festive dinner seating. Our wireless light cubes were used as table decoration and together with the environmental lighting around the room they created an impactful setting. The stage was also transformed into a gala scene with space for acrobats, live bands and DJs.

International event at the Gothia Towers Congress Hall

On behalf of Gothia Towers, Adapt a comprehensive solution with equipment and staff for a 2-day conference in the congress hall.

Our customer, a large international company, wanted a stage solution that would work both for conference and dinner with afterparty. The solution could easily be changed and adapted to different themes during the day.

Stage solution that was used for both conference and party.
The stage was used for conference during the day and party in the evening.

We designed a stage solution where we used 3 edgeless projection screens. Together they gave a total image area of 24×4.5 m. The projection created an impactful backdrop to the stage while providing a large picture area to display presentations, camera images, and graphics. The image solution was created with 3 Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors together with WatchOut and Vista Spyder X20.

Stage for artists and DJs
In the evening, the stage was used for entertainment and DJ.

The projection was complemented by an effective lighting consisting of moving luminaires placed above the canvas and on the stage floor. The theme of the evening was Scandinavian northern lights, snow and ice. We picked up the theme in the evening by using our GlaCi ice blocks and ice trees that were illuminated effectively with LED luminaires.
